Bill is a clinician scientist at the University of Manchester. His research focuses on the discovery and characterisation of rare genomic disorders especially related to the bladder and lower urinary tract. He leads the MRC-NIHR Rare Disease Node on Rare and Early Onset Urinary Tract (REOLUT) disorders.  He is the immediate past President of the European Society of Human Genetics.
